A note on the name. Jura's cleaning tablets are 3-phase. Jura's descaling tablets are 2-phase. They are different jobs and the machine prompts for them separately. If you are here because your machine asked for a descale, you want the 2-phase descaling tablets instead.

What the three phases do

• Clean. The brewing unit and sieve are flushed at 80 degrees, lifting out the coffee oils and fats that build up and turn rancid. This is what makes a machine start tasting stale even with fresh beans.
• Care. Active ingredients leave a protective layer on the component surfaces.
• Protect. Complexing agents give lasting protection against mineral deposits.

How to use it

Drop one tablet into the powder chute or bypass opening when the machine prompts you, and let the automatic cleaning programme run. Do not use them in the descaling cycle, and do not substitute a supermarket tablet. Jura's cleaning programme is timed around this tablet dissolving at a particular rate.
