French press & plunger

1 product

A plunger is the least fussy way to make good coffee. Coarse grounds steep in the carafe, you press the screen down slowly, and because there is no paper filter the oils stay in the cup. That is what gives plunger coffee its weight compared with a pour over.

Grind coarse, use water just off the boil, and give it four minutes. Serve it within twenty minutes so it stops extracting. Our brew guide and ratio calculator will work out the dose for your size.

A plunger is also the easiest way to make cold brew at home. Same coarse grind, cold water instead of hot, and sixteen hours in the fridge rather than four minutes on the bench.
