Every espresso machine we stock, side by side
Pulled straight from our own product data, so it is the same information we work from. A machine only appears here once its specs have been checked against the manufacturer. Where a figure is not published we leave the cell blank rather than guess.

Where a cell says Not published
It means the manufacturer does not state that figure, or the figures in circulation disagree with each other. We would rather leave it blank than pick one and be wrong. Ask us and we will tell you what we know and where it came from.
Automatic machines
Different job, different table. These grind, brew and texture milk on their own. Speciality counts are specific to the exact model code we stock, because they change between generations.

Plain EnglishWhat the rows actually mean
Skip this if you already know. It is here because the spec sheets assume you do.
Single boiler
One boiler for brewing and steaming, so you wait between the two. Fine for one or two coffees at a time.
Heat exchange
One steam boiler with a pipe running brew water through it. Brew and steam at the same time, from one heat source.
Dual boiler
Two separate boilers, each at its own temperature. The most control, and the most money.
E61 group
A 1961 design still in use because it works. Heavy brass, thermally stable, and every technician in the country knows it.
Vibrating vs rotary
Vibrating pumps are smaller and louder. Rotary pumps are quieter, smoother, and let you plumb the machine into mains water.
PID
Electronic temperature control. It holds the brew temperature steady shot after shot, which is most of what consistency means.
