Machines we accept

Rocket and ECM,
mostly.

Our workshop is built around Rocket and ECM, so they are the machines we know best and the ones we most want to take. We will look at other E61 machines case by case.

It does not matter where you bought it. A machine that is not running can still be worth trading, so bring it in rather than writing it off. What we offer depends on the model, its age, condition and service history, and whether we accept it at all is at our discretion.

Machines we take in are refurbished in our Brighton workshop and sold on through our pre-owned range, so a good machine ends up back on someone's bench instead of in a cupboard.

What your credit buys

A trade-in has to be
a step up.

Your credit goes towards a better machine than the one you are trading, not the same machine in a newer box. Swapping an Appartamento for another Appartamento is not an upgrade, so it is not a trade-in we will do. Moving from a single boiler to a heat exchanger, or from a heat exchanger to a dual boiler, is.

The credit goes towards a new manual machine, such as a Rocket or ECM. It does not apply to Jura or other automatic machines. We set the value on the day and take it off your new machine. It is credit against a purchase, not a cash offer, and we do not buy machines outright.

How a trade-in works
01
Tell us what you have
Send the make, model and rough age through the form below, call us, or just walk in. We will let you know whether it is worth bringing down.
02
Bring the machine in
Trade-ins are only ever assessed in person at our Brighton workshop. We need to see the machine to put a number on it.
03
We make you an offer
Our technicians check its condition and service history, then give you a value as credit against a new machine. No obligation to take it.
04
Step up to the new one
The credit comes off your new machine on the day, as long as it is a genuine step up on what you traded. Free delivery and setup across Melbourne metro.

Brands we take

The machines we know
best to rebuild.

We have been servicing these machines for decades, which is the only reason we can put a fair number on a used one. If we cannot rebuild it, we cannot resell it, and we will not offer credit for it.

Common Questions

Do I have to bring the machine in?
Yes. Every trade-in is assessed in person at our Brighton workshop. Photos and a model number help us tell you whether it is worth the trip, but we cannot give you a value until we have seen the machine.
Which machines do you accept?
Rocket and ECM are the ones we want. We will also consider other E61 machines case by case, so it is worth asking. Whether we take a machine is at our discretion.
How much is my machine worth?
It depends on the model, age, condition and service history, which is why we set the value in person rather than quoting online. We will tell you the number on the day and you are under no obligation to take it.
Can I trade for a newer version of the same machine?
No. A trade-in has to be a genuine upgrade, not a sideways move into the same machine a few years younger. If you would rather replace like with like, we are happy to service what you have or sell you a new one outright.
What counts as an upgrade?
A real step up in what the machine can do, usually a move up the boiler range, from single boiler to heat exchanger or from heat exchanger to dual boiler. Tell us what you have and what you are looking at and we will say straight away whether it qualifies.
Can I get cash instead?
No. A trade-in is credit towards a new machine. We do not buy machines outright.
What can I put the credit towards?
A new manual machine that is a step up from the one you are trading. Trade-in credit does not apply to Jura or other automatic machines. See the Rocket and ECM ranges.
Does it matter where I bought it?
No. As long as it is a machine we take, it makes no difference whether you bought it from us.
What if it does not work?
Bring it in anyway. We repair these machines every day, so something that looks finished to you is often worth more than you would think. If it is beyond saving we will tell you that too.
