Overview

A classic French press in heat resistant borosilicate glass, held in a mirror finish chrome frame. Coarse grounds steep in the carafe for four minutes, you press the plunger down slowly, and the stainless steel screen holds the grounds at the bottom while the coffee pours out clean.

Full immersion brewing gives you a heavier, rounder cup than a pour over, because the coffee oils stay in rather than being caught by paper. No power, no paper filter, and very little that can go wrong. It is still the easiest way to make good coffee for a table of people.

Two sizes. The 800ml makes six cups, the 1 litre makes eight. Both come with a plastic scoop.

Grind coarse, use roughly two tablespoons of coffee per 125ml of water, pour water just off the boil and give it four minutes. Serve within twenty minutes so it does not keep extracting. Our brew guide and ratio calculator will work out the dose for whichever size you pick.
